When you "think" about it... joy makes no sense. What do we really have to be joyful about? And yet if the source of joy is outside of ourselves, there exists the potential for a deeper joy than we ever dreamed of.
This Christmas season has been such a sweet time of reflection for me this year,, it is every Christmas season, but this year even more so, wondering , pondering, meditating on , reflecting on Mary's wonder and joy of all that was happening to her,, because this year we were blessed, are blessed with two grandchildren, in one year!!! Ive been just overwhelmed with how good God is,, His grace, mercy, kindness, generosity, redemption through His only Son, by looking into the eyes of our little grandbabies, and just being in wonder, pondering Gods grace in giving us these little blessings, Ive been so overwhelmed at times I just sit and cry, and its made me feel a greater intimacy with Mary, and the Shepherds in some strange way I cant even explain,, I guess this Christmas has just been sweeter and more intimate with our children and grandchildren, this year maybe because it was filled with babies, and firsts,,our 10 month olds first Christmas, and watching him open his gifts, and play with new toys, and how much he loved opening and looking at his new books,, baby books are so awesome these days, so durable and make all kinds of fun educational noises, with animals,,, that brought me so much joy to see him just as interested in his books as his toys,,, but I digress,,, Ilove this article on the pondering of Mary on joy.. thanks Jeff.
Amen ,, The JOY of the Lord is your strength!!!!! Merry Christmas Jeff, Carolyn and family. Love and prayer Jamie
