The decline of the Democratic Party began before 2024. Yet the sheer ugliness and banality of the Party was on full display in this election year. Unashamedly running pornographic advertisements was not even the apex of the Party’s idiocy.1
The crafting of a “woke” narrative that soon became many Democrats’ social nametags signaled the beginning of the end. From trumpeting gender pronouns on social media profiles to obfuscating what the definition of a woman was, the Democrats became obsessed with, well, sexuality.
They had no policy proposals other than printing more money. They had no strategy for securing our borders, taming runaway inflation caused by their enacted policies or in restoring civility and the rule of law. The Democrats were only concerned about biological unrealities and social engineering. They fomented continued payouts for foreign wars (trillions of dollars) in complete disregard for the American public’s desire to stay out of it. Their main strategy seemed to be “Blame Trump. Hate Trump.” Their rhetoric may have even fueled two different assassination attempts on the former President.
Finally, Harris was never a good candidate. She never made it anywhere in the Democratic Primaries of 2016. Prior to Biden dropping out of the race, no one on the planet would have believed she’d make a good candidate. And yet, for too many reasons to detail here, the Democrats were stuck with and then embraced her.
And so they lost in 2024. Bigly.
An article by The Daily Wire2 details in stunning statistical reality just how badly Kamala and the Dems did nationally.
But how did we get to this societal impasse? It was a Gandalf moment as the majority of Americans voted (many unenthusiasticall) for Trump and Republicans downticket. “You shall not pass!” was the scream of frustrated revulsion by the majority of citizens as they stood before the dumpster fire of non-policy, egregious wokeness and perversion promotion by the Democrats. And so the Balrog progressive Left’s agenda collapsed as Donald Trump was elected.
The stunning rebuke of the Democratic’s drive off the proverbial cliff reminded me of the dialogue God had with Job in scripture. God described for Job His power in setting boundaries. His description of creating boundaries for the seas was vivid:
“You may come this far, but no farther; your proud waves stop here.” (Job 38:11 )
In the election of 2024, the pendulum swing to the Left appeared to have finally crashed against the beachhead of sanity.
Even the process by which Kamala Harris was “selected” (not elected) was an affront to democracy.3 Slate Magazine admitted that “Kamala Harris Is an Undemocratic Candidate” in a headline, but then the liberal mag had to add a “whatabout" excuse for the Dems.4 The rest of the headline whined, “But she’s not the first.”
But the losing began earlier
Many date the decline of the Democratic Party to the beginning of Obama’s second tenure as President. It was during his tenure that gay marriage was legalized by a divided Supreme Court. It was during his tenure that Americans who had heretofore believed that race relations had been improving year upon year were told that we were all actually, deeply racist. Study after study show that the perception of declining race relations began after Obama was elected, not before.
It was a sobering headline, especially considering the source: CNN - “Most say race relations worsened under Obama, poll finds.”
Pew Research offered a piece about “How America Changed During Barack Obama’s Presidency.” Some of the findings included:
“A steady hollowing of the middle class”
“…income inequality reached its highest point since 1928.”
“…the biggest trend during Obama’s presidency is the rise of those who claim no religion at all. Those who self-identify as atheists or agnostics, as well as those who say their religion is “nothing in particular,” now make up nearly a quarter of the U.S. adult population, up from 16% in 2007.”5
Consider also the unsettling reality that Obama was the most progressive/Leftist President in modern history. He had eight years - eight years - to appoint judges and three-letter agency heads as well as other bureaucrats as he radically expanded governmental bureaucracy (which added hundreds of thousands of overarching/expensive regulations. It has been argued that the country is in the mess it is today as a result of Obama’s distinctive social tinkering.
Economic abuse
If there’s one thing that the Democrats do well, it’s pass money off to their cronies. It’s debatable whether the war in the Ukraine was a massive scheme to steal taxpayers’ money. The abuse of our monies hit exponential levels, according to one House Committee.6
With inflation impacting everything from groceries to gas, this election was an echo of James Carville’s infamous focusing mantra for Bill Clinton’s 1992 presidential campaign: “It’s the economy, stupid.”
Indeed. Americans on both sides of the aisle cheered when Trump announced a shrewd new approach to curtail and eliminate government waste: the creation of the Department of Government Efficiency - headed up by one of the world’s most successful businessmen, Elon Musk.
The dust settling
In the days after the election, many liberals bemoaned the loss of civilization and democracy. College campuses offered “safe spaces” for fragile students to mourn. A few rich celebrities who had threatened to move to another country actually have made good on their promise.7 However, no riots materialized.
In the weeks after, a sea change in national attitude occurred. Professional athletes, college students, and media stars made Trump’s iconic dance go viral.
Nationally, in some of the strangest places, optimism and joy (which supposedly Harris coined as the theme of her candidacy) flooded back into the country. The stock market rallied, and as Trump began making his Cabinet picks, people became freer about expressing their interest, support and hopefulness about the implementation of needed change. Trump indeed began creating a “Team of Rivals” as he appointed Vivek, RFK, Gabbard, and Rubio into influential positions.
Some of the dimmer stars and promoters of the symbolisms and virtue signaling of “woke” culture began to quietly change their associations/identifications. AOC deleted her gender pronouns on X.8
It remains to be seen how Trump will lead and govern. However, if his first term is any indication, the man will do what he said he will do.
In the meantime, the Democrats are in disarray, with no unifying, national vision to communicate. What in the world will they run for/against when Trump isn’t around to vilify or be on the ballot?

The continuing whine of “Trump is a threat to democracy,” by the Dems was laughable to the American public. Trump demonstrated no form of authoritarianism in office the first time. Instead, from the moment he was inaugurated, the Left abused democratic loopholes in the legal system to persecute, harass, slander and paint Trump as some kind of modern “Hitler.”

Yes , totally agree with all of this.. although I dont watch the news, or politics, because it causes my heart to race and stress level to increase, I overheard many talking about the evil and wickedness of the Kamala camp, I dont know how anyone in their right mind couldnt see how horrible and hard things have gotton in this country, no one can even live anymore unless they are millionaires, and families are hurting , badly... Although I dont claim to trust in man,, I am cautiously waiting and watching to see what happens when Trump takes office. Praying for him and his administration.
